I am very lucky to have a beautiful old farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales I love its lumpy bumpy walls, small windows and beamed ceilings. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the beautiful views and vast open countryside; the hillsides are a patchwork of colours which change with the seasons. My design style is contemporary country with a rustic twist I try and use tactile natural materials which include wool, stone and wood and can offer advice and inspiration to create the perfect country look. I feel it is really important to be passionate about what you do and for customers to feel that too.

If your home is in need of a makeover why not book a free one to one appointment at Bear Cottage where you can view our extensive range of fabrics, paint colours and wallpaper books. Whether you are starting from scratch, updating a room or looking for some instant updates to an existing scheme I can offer advice and inspiration to create the perfect look. I am friendly yet professional and can be as involved as you would like me to be I also offer a free measurement checking service on all orders placed for curtains and blinds in the local area if requested.

Home design consultation

This truly bespoke service starts with an appointment in the comfort of your home where I can discuss your design brief in full. I can assist with all aspects of interior decoration including paint, wallpaper, made to measure curtains, blinds and upholstery for as many rooms as required. This meeting will also give you a chance to discuss personal likes and dislikes and overall style including budget.

If you are happy with our initial ideas the next step is to create a design board or for smaller projects try the fabrics in your home. I can arrange for free fabric sample cuttings, wallpaper swatches and colour cards, larger returnable samples are another great way of seeing the bigger picture I recommend this as fabrics and colours can vary in different lights.
